Important Information on Graduation Assessments – Grade 10 Students

Attention Parents/Guardians,

Attached you will find some information on the graduation assessments that grade 10 students are writing this year.  In January, grade 10 students who were taking an English 10 course wrote the corresponding assessment as part of their graduation requirements. Half of the Grade 10 class (Last names A-H) wrote the Numeracy Assessment.  This semester, grade 10 students currently taking an English 10 course and the other half of the Grade 10 class (H-Z) will write these assessments during the week of April 14 – 17.

These assessments are not currently used by post-secondary institutions to determine entrance eligibility, and are primarily used to give feedback to schools and the Ministry of Education on how our students are doing in the two primary domains of public education, numeracy and literacy skill development.  Please do not hesitate to contact the school if you have any questions regarding these two graduation assessments.

Letters were sent home in the first semester to the students who were expected to write assessments this year.  Please do not hesitate to contact the school if you have any questions regarding these two graduation assessments.

See the links below for more information.  The first one is in regards to Numeracy Assessment and the second one is in regards to the Literacy Assessment.
