For your information, we share a link to the Superintendent’s Report to the Board prepared by our Superintendent Aaron Callaghan and presented at the Regular (Public) Board of Education Meeting held on Wednesday, February 22 at the Kitimat City High School:

Aaron’s report this month features an overview message that speaks to importance of Pink Shirt Day held on February 22, bussing issues that many families in our district have been impacted by in recent weeks, and an introduction to the How Are We Doing? 2021-2022 Aboriginal Report published by the Ministry of Education and Child Care for school districts and the province that uses several important measures to specifically track the progress of the system in meeting the learning and well-being needs of Indigenous learners.

WE NEED YOUR INPUT – STUDENT LEARNING SURVEY

Parents/guardians…. We need your input, so we know what is working in the school and what is not working for you and your child/ren!

Please take the Student Learning Survey. How do you have your voice heard?

To complete the survey:

  1. Go to any computer that has an up-to-date internet browser access at home, work, or school.
  2. Go to www.bced.gov.bc.ca/sat_survey/access.htm
  3. Under the section Direct Access – no logon number required select:
    • District: the name of your child’s district
    • School: the name of your child’s school
    • Language: the language of your choice
  4. Complete the survey by clicking on the appropriate circle to answer each question.  Move to the next set of questions by clicking on the right arrow in the bottom right corner of the screen. Click on the left arrow to navigate backwards.
  5. When you are finished the survey, you will get a message “Thank you for sharing your views”.
  6. Once complete, your school will have the results immediately.

About Yearbook pose selection:

You will have the opportunity this year to select your favourite yearbook pose. This selection will be used for the yearbook as well as the wall composite. You will receive a separate email to the address that was provided when you signed up online for your sitting. This email will arrive within 24 hours of receiving this notification. Your poses are limited to the specifications required by your yearbook committee in order to provide consistency. If you do not receive this additional email please feel free to reach out to us directly.
