If you have a child in the public school system in British Columbia, then you are likely familiar with the Foundation Skills Assessment (FSA) for Grades 4 and 7. The FSA is a set of reading; writing and numeracy tests administered each winter to BC students. Every province in Canada uses assessment tools similar to the FSA, which has been endorsed by leading education experts.
Parents/Guardians of Grade 7 students will be receiving a letter in the mail early next week and a pamphlet explaining what the Foundation Skills Assessment (FSA) is all about.
