BCACDI – Specialized Sitter Program

The BC Association for Child Development and Intervention is a provincial association of agencies that provide child development and therapy to children and youth with special needs and their families.  Through generous support from the BC Ministry and Family Development, BCACDI has created the Specialized Sitter training modules.  The online learning opportunity is designed to provide additional skills and knowledge for those individuals (e.g. – “babysitters”) providing short-term  supervision of children.  The goal is to increase the pool of individuals with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to provide short-term supervision.  Training is offered several times… Continue reading

DISTRICT AWARDS 2019

Applications due March 15th by 3:30 pm to Ms. Johnsen

The intent of the District Scholarships is to acknowledge excellence in non-academic fields and to assist with tuition for furthering students’ post-secondary education. The student does not have to be pursuing post-secondary education in the non-academic field although priority may be given to students who are pursuing one of those areas.

Areas:

  • Applied Design, Skills, and Technologies (such as Business, Home Economics,
  • Information Communication Technology, Media Arts, Tourism)
  • Arts Education (dance, drama, music, visual arts)
  • Community Service (volunteer activity, including awareness of local, global, and cultural issues)

COURSE SELECTION

The course selection process for next school year will begin March 1, 2019 and we would like to remind students and parents/guardians to have discussions at home regarding the course selection process and consider their selections very seriously. Decisions regarding how many sections of a particular course will be offered, the period/term that a particular course will be offered to reduce conflicts, the purchase of resources, and staffing decisions for the upcoming school year are all influenced by the registration patterns of our students. Grad Information

Attention Grads and Parents/Families of Grads
Yesterday we held a Grad meeting at 2:45pm in the Theatre for all grads. During this meeting we distributed all forms for the Graduation events (Dry Grad, Grad Banquet and Walk up). Special thank you to Mrs. Deb Dumas and Mrs. Colleen Velho for attending and speaking to the Grads on behalf of the Dry Grad Parent Committee and the Banquet Committee respectively.
Grads who did not attend this meeting can come by the office to collect… their forms. Please note the date for returning completed forms with payments is March 7th.
